Who Doesn’t Love Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Are you sims cookie makers? If they have Level 3 or higher cooking skill, they can bake delicious treats any time day or night. They cost 21 simoleons to make and can sell at retail for 88 simoleons, so baking up a batch can be a tasty way to earn a bit of extra cash.

If your sims family is anything like my real family, though, there wouldn’t be enough cookies left to sell. Once I put a plate of cookies out to cool, they tend to disappear very quickly.

Here’s the recipe I use. It’s doubly-delicious in my opinion because it combines chocolate chips with chewy oatmeal. Enjoy!

CCCGranny’s Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1/4 cup sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

3 cups rolled oats

2 cups chocolate chips

In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set mixture aside.

In a second bowl, blend butter, sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer (medium-high speed) for approximately three minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Add vanilla.

Using mixer on low speed, slowly add flour mixture. Continue mixing until wet and dry ingredients are combined.

Add oats and chocolate chips. Mix until combined.

Note: You can chill the dough in the refrigerator for an hour before baking, although I usually skip this step and the cookies turn out great all the same.

Place cookies (about 2 teaspoons of dough for each cookie) on a parchment-lined baking sheet, about 2″ apart. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for about 10 minutes. Edges will be lightly browned and center should still be soft. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer cookies to a cooling rack.

VARIATIONS: You can also add in about 1 cup flaked coconut, 1 cup chopped nuts, or both, depending on your family’s preferences. I’ve also made these using butterscotch chips instead of chocolate. The results are yummy. I do leave out the cinnamon when I’m making the butterscotch variety. Yet another variation is to add one mashed banana to the mix. Instead of individual cookies, the recipe can also be prepared in a pan and cut into bars.

ENJOY!

  1. Oooh, I love making cookies. My cc cookie recipe isn’t nearly so complex, no oatmeal or anything, but I replace the vanilla with almond extract, usually half as much as vanilla is asked for and it adds that extra oomph to the recipe.

    1. I’ve never tried using almond. That sounds good! I use it in a lot of other things, but never in cookies. I’ll have to do that.
