Fantasia

Enjoy the music of John Dowland today along with art by English painter Robert Peake the Elder.

I love listening to lute music. It always puts me in a quiet, but thoughtful mood. It’s perfect for background music while I’m writing, painting, or reading. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

    1. I really enjoy “early music”. It relaxes me and energizes me at the same time, weird as that sounds. I think it relaxes my body but energizes my mind, or maybe it’s the other way around. I don’t know how it works, really, but I like listening to it. I’m glad you enjoyed it, too.

  1. I am not acquinted to his work but have just been listening to his ouvre and it is awesome! Thank you for the inspiration given.
I used to listen to the Gregorian music composed by Hildegard von Bingen in the 12th century AD; a remarkably emancipated lady that turns out to be the first known (by name) composer of classical music; to me a true feminist also. Only just this century she’s deemed a saint by the pope.
Anyways again, thank you for reminding me of this wonderful ‘early music’.
